I came across this idea on another blog a couple months ago. They quickly became Lydia's favorite food, and she asked me to make them to take into a school party. Aren't they cute? Here's what goes into them:
1. tube of crescent roll dough
2.fillings of your choice (in this case ham and sharp cheddar)
Pretty straightforward. You could make them more interesting by using gourmet cheese, spicy mustard, etc.
If you're using a mini muffin pan like I did, tear the crescent roll in half, mash (that's a southern word) 1/2 in the pan, insert fillings, and fold the dough over the top. Cook in the oven for about 7 minutes on 375. For full size popovers, don't tear the crescent roll in half. Bake them for 11-12 minutes at 375.
