I have to admit I feel a little guilty about buying a better winter coat for myself than the rest of the family. I won't grow out of mine by next winter though (hopefully).

You are suffering from "Mom Syndrome," a malady in which mothers either forgo getting clothing they need in favor of her family members, or she feels guilty when she does purchase what she needs. You need not feel guilt. It is a needed item.
After all, you don't want to become ill from suffering in the shivering cold. Then what help could you be to your family?! And not getting what you need puts them on a guilt trip. Enjoy that stylish warm coat! G

Thanks for putting a name to that illness! I finally got sick of my ratty clothes and went shopping at Old Navy this weekend too.
